Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer (EC&I) – Submarines

As we continue to support the Royal Navy as the technical authority to the UK Ministry of Defence for naval reactor plants, we’re also growing our submarine and nuclear sector capabilities.
As part of this we are looking for a number of people with a strong background in Electrical Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) Design Engineering.

What you will be doing:
The projects will be incredibly fast paced with delivery dates which are very challenging. It is essential the applicant is pragmatic, proactive, and comfortable with managing ambiguity. This is an exciting time to join what is a growing part of the Submarines business.
- Undertake or support all design tasks from scoping and blank page design to authoring substantiation and safety documentation and supporting procurement through the manufacture, test and supply of components
- Production of technical reports/operating manuals etc. to a high standard.
- Responsible for delivery to cost, specification and programme.
- Work closely with the project engineer and multi-discipline teams to develop detailed plans and estimates to meet business objectives.
Who we’re looking for:

- Project or Technical Co-ordinator experience in a service / engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Electrical controls and instrumentation design experience, and an understanding of electrical design principles.
- A good understanding of a design process from scoping to delivery.
- Must have a degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent level of continuous professional development and experience.
- Ideally have experience of design work related to a submarine NSRP

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
