Technical Support Engineer

Full Time 37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Support Engineer to join our team within the Civil Aerospace division in Derby.

What you will be doing:

As a Technical Support Engineer you will drive the execution of the V&V IT strategy by delivering digital solutions that enhance business performance and meet user needs including: fixing, improving and / or transforming current digital capability in accordance with the V&V IT systems roadmap.

  • Capture and maintain customer requirements throughout the solution lifecycle
  • Develop and evaluate system concepts using systems engineering methods
  • Identify and mitigate risks through RRMS processes
  • Define system architecture and solutions aligned with business objectives
  • Lead design reviews with Technical Councils and High-Spots
  • Create and manage system verification plans
  • Coordinate system implementation and modifications to meet customer goals
  • Collaborate with testing teams and engineers to support product validation
  • Monitor system health and schedule maintenance activities
  • Investigate and resolve system issues affecting test operations
  • Track system obsolescence and contribute to improvement planning

In addition, the following role specific skills are preferred

  • Degree level in Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in relevant domain is preferred but not essential
  • Good communication, presentation skills and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • An understanding in calibration and metrology to support Rolls Royce in engine testing,
